Awkwafina

Awkwafina has been described as an American actor and performer who made her name with smart raps that addressed sexuality and racial identities with an edgy, comical perspective. She then expanded to Hollywood. Nora Lum was born to Chinese-Korean immigrants in Forest Hills Queens. Her first encounter with music was from the trumpet. Also, she received classical and jazz training later when she began to explore hip-hop as a teenager. In school, she concentrated on journalism and woman's studies. She studied Mandarin for a while in Beijing. Her focus shifted to music once she finished her studies. Her track in 2012 My Vag a response to Mickey Avalon's My Dick found viral success through the Internet eventually landing on her debut album Yellow Ranger in 2014. The album featured other hit songs that went viral, such as the body-positive Queef and the winking tour of her hometown NYC Bitche$. The track that was second on the album linked to Awkwafina's NYC Travel Guide that was published in the year 2015, and was an additional idea. Following a career that was successful as a performer and songwriter, she decided to take on the character of actress. Alongside early TV shows like Girl Code and Tawk - she appeared in the movies Neighbors 2 Storks and Bad Rap. In the year 2018, she was offered a number of breakthrough roles, such as Dude Ocean's Eight or Crazy Rich Asians. This June, she released her EP "In Fina We Trust".
